Kum & Go Celebrates Colorado Springs Entry With Free Gas

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Kum & Go is celebrating its recent entry into the Pikes Peak region by giving away free gasoline to area drivers this week, according to a report by The Gazette. Three gas stations will each provide 50 drivers with up to 12 gallons of gasoline.

The gas giveaways are scheduled for the following dates and locations in Colorado Springs, Colo.:

  • Noon on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7375 Duryea Drive, west of Powers Boulevard and Woodmen Road;
  • 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 at 1206 InterQuest Parkway, part of InterQuest Marketplace, east of I-25 and InterQuest; and
  • Noon on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2190 Vickers Drive, northwest of Vickers and Academy Boulevard.

Lines will form one hour before the giveaways begin, and Kum & Go employees will pump the gas. Discounts on food and beverage items will also be available, such as fountain drinks for a quarter or pizza slices for $1, according to the report.

Kum & Go CEO Kyle Krause stated that the company is seeking to build relationships in the area through its investment in new stores and its charitable donations. The West Des Moines, Iowa-based convenience store chain opened its Vickers Drive store on June 1; the other two giveaway sites opened for business this month.

Five more stores are expected to open in the area by the end of the year, and 20 to 25 are planned for the Pikes Peak region over five years.
