Kum & Go CEO Adds Second Winery to Portfolio
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Kum & Go LC CEO Kyle Krause added to his business portfolio with the purchase of a second winery, reported the Des Moines Register.
Krause Holdings Inc. recently acquired Vietti, a family-owned winery in Castiglione Falletto, Italy, which has operated for 143 years.
The acquisition includes 84 acres of land and the winery itself, according to Wine Spectator magazine. It is Krause's second winery following his 2015 purchase of Enrico Serafino near Canale, Italy.
"My mother's family is Italian, and I have always had a passion for Italy and for Barolo," said Krause. "When the opportunity arose to buy Vietti, it was too good to pass up.”
Family members Luca Currado and Mario Cordero currently operate the fifth-generation winery and will continue to produce and market the Vietti wines under its new ownership.
Vietti will also have access to 30 acres of vineyards in the area that Krause has purchased over the last year.
