Kwik Shop Contemplates Adding Pharmacies

WICHITA, Kan. -- The management team at Kwik Shop, one of Kroger Inc.'s five convenience store divisions, is considering the addition of pharmacies to its stores, according to a report by the Wichita Eagle.

"I think that sounds interesting," Jeff Parker, president of the chain of approximately 125 stores in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa, told the newspaper. "We have looked at a lot of things like that."

Parker has looked over Kroger's Tom Thumb Food Stores in Florida, which has one location with a pharmacy, the newspaper reported.

Still, Parker does not have a timetable for making a decision about the new profit center.
"We don’t have any kind of definitive schedule or anything like that," he told the newspaper.
