Kwik Trip Quickly Making Inroads Into Central Minnesota

LA CROSSE, Wis. — With the purchase of 10 sites in the St. Cloud, Minn., area within the past year, Kwik Trip Inc. is aggressively entering the Central Minnesota market at a remarkably fast pace. The convenience store retailer plans to open eight of the purchased sites by the end of this year: four locations in St. Cloud, and one each in Waite Park, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and St. Joseph.

Kwik Trip also plans to expand into Rockville, Minn., and Cold Spring, Minn., as part of the more than $40 million investment, which will bring a minimum of 280 jobs to the area, the St. Cloud Times reported.

Hans Zietlow, director of real estate for Kwik Trip, told the news outlet that St. Cloud is the next logical move the company can take to grow the business. “Central Minnesota has some dynamic arteries,” said Zietlow, nephew of Kwik Trip President Don Zietlow. “[U.S.] Highway 10, [Interstate] 94… They are all arteries that head across the state.”
