Love's Celebrates CNG Expansion With 99-Cent Offer
SAN ANTONIO — Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores is celebrating its introduction of fast-fill compressed natural gas (CNG) here by offering the alternative fuel for 99 cents per gallon at five of its locations for a two-week period.
Love’s introduction of fast-fill CNG in the Alamo City means the travel center operator now offers the fuel in all three Texas Triangle cities of San Antonio, Houston and Dallas.
The company will offer 99-cent CNG at one location near each city Feb. 14-Feb. 28, as well as two locations along Interstate 40.
“Love’s fast-fill CNG network has grown from one location in 2012 to 11 facilities and counting, largely because of the demand and support we’ve received from our customers,” said Bill Cashmareck, general manager of natural gas at Love’s. “Offering CNG to heavy-duty fleets and passenger vehicles for 99 cents is a way we can show our appreciation.”
CNG is purported to be locally produced, more environmentally friendly and cheaper than traditional petroleum. Fast-fill CNG allows vehicles to refill their tanks at a rate of greater than 10 gallons per minute, meaning a truck can refill a 100-gallon tank in less than 10 minutes.
The Love’s locations offering the 99-cent promotion are:
- San Antonio, I-35, exit 144
- Rockwall, Texas, I-30, exit 70
- Katy, Texas, I-10, exit 737
- Oklahoma City, I-40, exit 166
- Amarillo, Texas, I-40, exit 74
Oklahoma City-based Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores operates more than 330 locations in 40 states.
