Love's Turns to Tech to Ensure Food Quality, Safety

OKLAHOMA CITY — Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores has signed a multi-year agreement to implement Digi International's task management and food temperature monitoring solution at all of its U.S. locations.

Through the deal, Love's will implement Digi's advanced technology-supported service to ensure that all of its restaurants deliver the highest levels of food quality and safety, according to the announcement.

"Part of our core values is to 'focus on the customer in everything we do' and embrace innovative thinking," stated Joe Cotton, director of restaurant services for Love's Travel Stops. "After an extensive and thorough search, Digi emerged as the most advanced, complete system to help us deliver the very best experience to our customers as we set the industry standard for foodservice quality."

Digi's solution automates food temperature monitoring and task logging that simplifies employees' duties while ensuring public health compliance. The solution will also provide enterprise-wide insight and reporting that allows Love's to implement best-practice processes and systems at all locations.

"To work with a company with the reputation and stature of Love's is a great testament to our solution," said Kevin C. Riley, chief operating officer, Digi International. "The scope of the agreement clearly demonstrates to the market that Digi is providing a proven solution and bringing the latest technological approaches that allow companies to proactively ensure the highest standards in food safety."

Digi's task management application is a subscription-based service that allows restaurants to capture and manage daily tasks and temperature logs on any smartphone. Tasks can be assigned and customized by role, defined by time slot and frequency and set for alert notifications.
