Lykins Energy Acquires Martin Oil Co.

MILFORD, Ohio — Lykins Energy Solutions purchased Martin Oil Co. Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition of Buckhannon, W. Va.-based Martin Oil, which was founded in 1966, is part of its long-term growth plan, the company stated.

"We plan to keep that tradition alive as the new owners,” said Lykins Energy Solutions President and CEO Jeff Lykins. “Lykins Energy is proud to have the opportunity to purchase Martin Oil and bring all 14 employees into the Lykins Energy Solutions family. We look forward to serving Martin Oil’s customers with the same dedication to quality and customer service that Martin Oil has provided for the last 49 years.”

The chief executive added that his company will continue to look for growth opportunities in the Midwest.

“We continue to look for top-quality companies to purchase in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia,” he said.

Founded in 1948, Milford-based Lykins Energy Solutions serves customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, as well as throughout the Midwest and Southeast. It provides key services including branded fuels, wholesale fuels, commercial, transportation and home heating oil, propane, lubricants, electricity and natural gas. The company represents four major brands of fuel that it sells to independent gas dealers: BP, Marathon, Shell and Gulf.
