MAPCO & Paypal to Offer Holiday Pump Promotion

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — MAPCO Express Inc. is teaming up with PayPal to give drivers in the Nashville area an early Thanksgiving treat.

Consumers who visit either the MAPCO station at 1187 W. Main St. in Hendersonville, Tenn., or the MAPCO store located at 1100 Hillsboro Road in Franklin, Tenn., on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. can earn $1 off each gallon of gas when paying with PayPal using the MyMAPCO MobilePay app.

Hence, consumers will be paying less than $2 per gallon of gas during these specified times when utilizing the PayPal mobile payment method.

"On average, residents of Nashville fill 10 gallons of gas per fill-up at the pump," said Brad Brodigan, vice president and general manager of retail for PayPal, a division of eBay Inc. "That's up to $10 off."

The $1 discount applies to passenger vehicles only, and customers are allowed to take advantage of this offer just once. Diesel fuel is excluded from the special offer.

In August, PayPal partnered with MAPCO to become the exclusive payment option within the MyMAPCO MobilePay app, which is currently available for use at 276 MAPCO locations across the United States. Consumers using the app receive 5 cents off per gallon purchased.

According to PayPal, nearly 3,000 people in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee have already been using its mobile payment option.

Brentwood-based MAPCO Express Inc. is a division of Delek US Holdings Inc. As of Sept. 30, it operated 366 convenience stores under the MAPCO Express, MAPCO Mart, East Coast, Fast Food and Fuel, Favorite Markets, Delta Express and Discount Food Mart brand names.
