Marathon Oil Expects Higher Gas Sales for Q2
HOUSTON -- In an interim update on its second quarter results, Marathon Oil Corp. revealed an expectation for higher same-store gas sales at its Speedway SuperAmerica locations.
Speedway SuperAmerica (SSA) gasoline and distillate gross margin averaged $0.0845 per gallon during April and May 2009, and is expected to average approximately $0.10 per gallon for the second quarter 2009.
Marathon projected SSA's second quarter same-store gas sales volume will increase approximately 2 percent over the same quarter last year, the company stated.
Meanwhile, its merchandise gross margin was $127 million for the April-May 2009 timeframe. For the second quarter in 2008, merchandise gross margin was $181 million.
Marathon will report its second quarter results Aug. 3, 2009.
