Maverik's Pact With PriceAdvantage Helps With Store Growth
SALT LAKE CITY — Maverik Inc. teamed with PriceAdvantage to conduct a case study highlighting the convenience retailer's use of PriceAdvantage to support the chain's rapid expansion efforts.
The company's growth plan includes opening 26 new c-stores around the Intermountain West region, including expansion into the Las Vegas, Denver, and Spokane, Wash., markets.
Maverik began using PriceAdvantage software in early 2016, when it replaced its internal, proprietary system that struggled to keep pace with company growth. It selected PriceAdvantage after reviewing available options and finding a unique differentiator.
"The PriceAdvantage team expressed a genuine desire to be a partner with our fuel marketing efforts," said Carter Shaw, lead pricing analyst for Maverik, who spearheaded the selection process. "I cannot emphasize the importance of our business relationship enough — we feel deeply valued as a customer and the PriceAdvantage team shows genuine concern on how the product performs for our company."
One of Maverik's primary goals was to be able to quickly bring on new stores, build their strategies and establish competitors. The company accomplished this and is able to price its stores more quickly, allowing it to easily expand without adding additional staff to the pricing team.
"A huge benefit of using PriceAdvantage is my ability to price fuel from anywhere using my phone," Carter explained. "Before, I had to be at my desktop to make price changes. Now, I can just simply pull out my phone and push new prices in just seconds."
