McDonald¿s Awards Most Outstanding Partners

LAS VEGAS – On Monday on the 2004 NACS showroom floor, fast food giant McDonald’s Corp. presented its third annual Outstanding Co-Branded Partnership Awards to four recipients who have helped McDonald’s and its franchisees excel in the programming world.

This year’s recipients included: Jim Forsyth, president of Moto Inc.; Rick Shuffield, director of real estate and development for Love’s Travel Shops; Keith Van Marter, director of marketing development for Landmark Petroleum; and Kent Brotherton, director of marketing development for Landmark Petroleum.

“The criteria for the awards includes people and companies who have developed a number of locations with McDonald’s successfully, but also individuals who have helped McDonald’s and its franchisees do a better job in the programming world,” said Melanie Smythe, development manager of McDonald’s Corp. “It’s almost like going into a marriage, because you have two businesses under one roof.”

Smythe added that all of the recipients have multiple units with McDonald’s, and have in their own way contributed something back to the McDonald’s system. The recipients’ sites have been amongst the most successful in the past year.
