McLane to Build 22nd Distribution Center

FINDAY, Ohio -- McLane Co. Inc., one of the nation’s leading wholesale suppliers to retailers and restaurants, will invest $119 million to build a new distribution facility in Findlay. Company officials said they expect to break ground this summer.

“We’re thrilled that Findlay, Ohio, will be home to our 22nd grocery distribution center within our nationwide network,” said Mike Youngblood, president of McLane Grocery. “The values and work ethic of the community fit perfectly with McLane."

McLane's Grocery unit services more than 45,000 retail locations nationwide. The company expects this new highly automated distribution center in Findlay to greatly enhance its efficiency in servicing customers throughout the Great Lakes region.

“McLane Co.’s decision to invest in Findlay is great news for northwest Ohio and the more than 425 highly skilled workers that will be on the job at this cutting-edge facility,” said JobsOhio President and Chief Investment Officer John Minor. “With the Regional Growth Partnership and City of Findlay, we look forward to continuing to work with McLane for many years to come.”

According to Youngblood, the invaluable assistance of state and local officials was one of McLane's primary reasons in selecting Ohio as its new home. "Their focus on promoting a business-friendly environment was a critical part of our selection process,” he noted.

Based in Temple, Texas, McLane provides grocery and foodservice supply chain solutions for convenience stores, mass merchants, drugstores and chain restaurants throughout the United States.
