McLane Expanding
TEMPLE, Texas
McLane Company Inc., a Temple, Texas-based grocery and food distributor, opened and launched distribution services from its newest distribution center in Concord, N.H.
The 240,000 square-foot distribution center will undergo further improvements over the next three months with an additional 4,950 square feet of space, more dock doors and expansion of the parking lot. The business will operate under the name McLane Northeast-Concord and will serve convenience stores throughout the New England area.
McLane Northeast-Concord employs more than 280 people, and is expected to have first year sales of approximately $400 million, according to Maura Weddle, vice president of distribution, who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business.
"Thanks to the hard work of our excellent teammates, the start-up of our operations here have been very successful," Weddle said. "We are so excited to be a part of the Contoocook and Hopkinton communities."
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc., McLane now operates 18 grocery divisions supplying convenience stores throughout the United States.
