MCX Taps Paydiant to Power Mobile Payments

DALLAS -- Merchant Customer Exchange (MCX) will add Paydiant Inc.'s cloud-based platform to its custom developed mobile commerce infrastructure.

MCX is a mobile payment and mobile wallet platform founded by a host of retailers, including Kum & Go LC, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., 7-Eleven Inc., Phillips 66, Alon USA, QuikTrip Corp., Sheetz Inc., Wawa Inc. and Exxon Mobil Corp. in the convenience store space.

According to MCX, Paydiant's technology will allow its member merchants to leverage existing smartphones, point-of-sale and payment terminals. MCX members will be able to integrate complete mobile wallet capabilities and value-added services into their own iPhone and Android apps.

"Mobile payments and offers are a critical customer touch point for merchant brands," said Kevin Laracey, CEO and founder of Paydiant. "We are looking forward to working with MCX to remove the primary obstacles that retailers can face when adopting a mobile payments infrastructure by providing members with greater control over the customer experience. As a result, merchants can engage their customers with the convenience of mobile payments along with personalized offers, promotions and programs that build customer loyalty and increase share of wallet."

MCX also announced today that The Wendy's Co. and Acme Fresh Market are the latest merchants to join as members.

"We are really enthusiastic about the momentum MCX is making as a company. Paydiant adds unique mobile wallet capabilities and proven retail experience that seamlessly complements MCX’s existing technology platform," said MCX CEO, Dekkers Davidson. "… Both the partnership and recent additions to our MCX merchant members are key milestones as we work to ultimately bring to market the best mobile commerce solution for consumers and merchants alike."

Dallas-based MCX represents more than 70 prominent brands with 110,000 locations that process more than $1 trillion annually.
