MFA Oil Purchases 30 Fuel Supply Contracts

COLUMBIA, Mo. — MFA Oil Co. purchased a portion of the dealer fuel supply agreements owned by Sunshine Fuels LLC and Sunshine Energy LLC. The purchase, made through MFA's subsidiary American Petroleum Marketers LLC (APM), includes 30 supplier contracts of dealers in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.

The acquired stores will continue to offer the Phillips 66, Conoco and Shell fuel brands.

"These independent dealer sites align well geographically with our existing dealers, allowing us to provide the service and support independent operators need," said Jon Ihler, vice president of sales, marketing and quality control. "The purchase also allows us to work with other major fuel suppliers with whom we haven't in the past."

MFA Oil purchased APM in November 2013. APM is continuing to look for opportunities to partner with convenience store owners and dealers in its existing market area, as well as expand its footprint to other states, according to the announcement.

APM distributes fuel to more than 60 Cenex-branded sites, as well as unbranded fuel, in nine states.

Founded in 1929, MFA Oil is a farmer-owned cooperative with more than 40,000 members. Aside from operating Break Time convenience stores, it supplies fuels, lubricants and propane to customers in 13 states. In addition, MFA operates Jiffy Lube franchises in central Missouri and Big O Tires franchises in central Missouri and Arkansas.
