Michigan Grocer Develops Another C-Store

12/22/2005
GAYLORD, Mi.-- Spartan Stores, a Michigan based grocery distributor and retailer, will add a Glen's Quick Stop convenience and fuel center to their Glen's Markets location in Gaylord, Mi., reported the Gaylord Herald Times .

"Spartan Stores is excited to open our second convenience and fueling station at Glen's Markets," said Craig Sturken, chairman, president and CEO of Spartan Stores. "Offering convenience and service are important to today's consumers and central to our commitment to being a neighborhood supermarket."

Glen's Markets will reopen with a Glen's Quick Stop in late January. The newly renovated location will feature lottery tickets, food items -- including deli sandwiches and doughnuts made in the adjacent supermarket --, as well as various promotions and discounts for convenience and supermarket shoppers.
Spartan Stores owns and operates 54 supermarkets and 19 deep-discount drug stores in Michigan and Ohio, including Family Fare Supermarkets, Glen's Markets, and The Pharm.
