Miller Brewing Company Wins Retailer Kudos
LAS VEGAS--Miller Brewing Company was awarded the Preferred Supplier Award from CM Profit Group LLC at the NACS show in Las Vegas.
The award is based on in-depth research and surveys of off-premise retailers, and was given to Miller for having the highest ratings for overall performance. Miller was also named most improved domestic supplier. This is the fourth year that CM Profit Group, a beverage consulting, training and search firm has conducted this research of buying decision makers at off-premise chains and the first year Miller has been top-rated.
In accepting the award from CM’s Carol Lynn Breedlove, Jeff Schouten, Miller Brewing group director, said, "We have to work hard and with the retailers interest in mind to be the preferred supplier." Noting Miller’s slogan, "Making beer work best for you," he explained, "we help retailers understand the beer business and consumer in order to grow their retail business. We are talking to them more about strategies, profitability and the beer consumer, in addition to execution — you still have to do the basics well. It’s that thought leadership approach that makes the difference."
Research is conducted among a group made up of 40 percent c-stores, 40 percent supermarkets and 20 percent mass, drug and other. The survey asks these retailers to rate the performance of national suppliers and beer and malt beverages.
Schouten added, "This award means a lot because it is what our customers are saying about us."
