Murphy Oil, Revolution Money Partner on Fuel Savings Campaign
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- In an effort to lessen sticker shock at the pump, Revolution Money Inc. and Murphy Oil USA Inc. joined together to offer a new rewards program.
Nearly 1,000 Murphy locations in 20 states now accept RevolutionCard, which provides a discount of three cents per gallon. Beginning Nov. 1, new cardholders will receive up to $50, a $10 savings on each of their first five purchases of $25 or more, explained Jason Hogg, founder and chief executive officer of Revolution Money.
"The escalating price of gas has hit just about everyone," Hogg said in a statement. "RevolutionCard charges retailers much less than traditional card brands, so Murphy Oil saves money on transaction fees and consumers can enjoy a lower price. There are also no reward points to accumulate—Murphy customers get a lower price at the pump immediately."
Bill Deichler, manager of business development for Murphy Oil, noted RevolutionCard payment cards charge merchants up to 80 percent less in transaction fees than other card brands. In addition, RevolutionCard charges no interchange fees and only a 0.50 percent processing fee per transaction.
"We’re pumped to offer RevolutionCard to our customers," Deichler said in a statement. "We save money each time a customer uses a card on the RevolutionCard network, and we pass those savings on to the customer with our 3 cent per gallon discount."
