NACS and Convenience Store News Announce New Partnership

ALEXANDRIA, VA, and NEW YORK – NACS and Convenience Store News announced a collaborative agreement to educate convenience retailers on the critical importance of leveraging new technologies and upgrading existing technologies to grow sales and reduce costs. This partnership will include new programming at NACStech, the industry's biggest technology event, and the creation of a new NACS/Convenience Store News Technology special edition magazine, with additional marketing opportunities for technology suppliers.

The major elements to the new three-year partnership include:

-- Convenience Store News will hold its 5th annual CIO Roundtable immediately before NACStech and it will be rebranded as the NACS/Convenience Store News CIO Roundtable;
-- Convenience Store News' 7th Annual Technology Awards, recognizing individual and company technology implementations, will now be presented at NACStech;
-- NACS and Convenience Store News will jointly produce a special technology edition that will combine NACStech coverage, insights from the CIO Roundtable and technology news and case histories that will be co-branded as the NACS/Convenience Store News Technology special edition; and,
-- Convenience Store News will serve as the exclusive convenience trade media partner for NACStech.

"This partnership furthers our goal of delivering one-stop shopping for industry retailers and suppliers," said NACS President and CEO Hank Armour. "Just as we have thoughtfully brought in new partners to enhance our annual NACS Show, we want to deliver even more robust package deliverables to the industry's premier technology event, and this partnership furthers that goal."

In April, NACS and the Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) announced a partnership agreement in which OPIS will provide access and usage of its renowned motor fuels data as well as content and speakers for the NACS Show and NACStech.

"The Convenience Store News team is excited to expand its partnership with NACS through this agreement and specifically on this critical and evolving aspect of retailer operations. The combination of both organizations' expertise will provide even more value to NACStech attendees and the Convenience Store News' community," said Scott Seltz, vice president and publishing director for Nielsen Business Media's Retail Food Group, which includes Convenience Store News.

NACStech 2010 will take place May 5 to 7, in New Orleans. More than 1,200 attendees are expected to attend NACStech, which features nearly 100 exhibits. Registration and information on how to advertise in the special publications will be available at www.nacstech.com.
