NACS Members Getting Protection from Bouncing Checks

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Through a partnership with eCashflow Systems, NACS members can eliminate costs associated with bounced checks that are returned because of non-sufficient funds.

The agreement was signed between the two companies earlier this month. It allows members to eliminate time and expenses associated with bounced checks, which is estimated to cost more than $95 per check returned in bank fees and lost employee productivity. Any costs associated with returned checks will be passed from members to the writers of the checks, without cost to the retailer, who will receive 100 percent of any check collected. The company's patented technology offers three options for payment to the bank, one more than the traditional paper method, according to eCashflow.

"We are excited to offer this new benefit to NACS Members," said NACS products and services manager Doug Spencer. "No one else in the industry provides a system like that patented by eCashflow Systems."

NACS, the association for convenience and petroleum retailing, is an international trade association that represents more than 2,200 retail and 1,800 supplier members out of the convenience industry's more than 140,000 retailers.
