NACS Show 2015 to Feature Four Days of General Sessions

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NACS, the Association for Convenience & Fuel Retailing, will offer four days of general sessions at this year's NACS Show instead of the usual three.

John Mackey, co-CEO and co-founder of Whole Foods Market, is the latest addition to the event's lineup of general-session speakers. Mackey will discuss "conscious capitalism" and how a company's higher purpose can affect stakeholder integration, leadership and culture on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m.

His accomplishments include leading the natural and organic grocery chain to become a $14-billion Fortune 500 company with more than 500 stores in three countries, and building a more conscious way of doing business through the Whole Planet Foundation, Local Producer Loan Program, Global Animal Partnership and Health Starts Here initiatives.

Other speakers slated to take the stage during the four days of general sessions include:

  • Chris McChesney, global practice leader of execution for Franklin Covey and bestselling author of "The 4 Disciplines of Execution;" and
  • Connie Podesta, an award-winning author, comedian and expert in the psychology of human relations, sales and leadership.

McChesney will speak Sunday, Oct. 11 at 12:30 p.m., while Podesta will speak Monday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.

This year's general session slate also includes the 2015 NACS "Ideas 2 Go" program, which will be presented on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 8 a.m. Since 1994, Ideas 2 Go has featured hundreds of interviews with retailers from 38 states and five countries, showcasing the industry’s best practices. A new Ideas 2 Go program launches each year at the NACS Show and attracts thousands of attendees looking for new ideas to implement in their stores, according to the association.

The 2015 NACS Show will take place Oct. 10-14 in Las Vegas.
