National Beer Wholesalers Honor A-B's Bob Lachky
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The National Beer Wholesalers Association is honoring Bob Lachky, executive vice president of global industry development for Anheuser-Busch (A-B), with its Industry Service Award for his role in the "Here's to Beer" campaign -- a promotion for the beer industry and the role of distributors in the marketplace.
The National Beer Wholesalers Association gives out its Industry Service Award to individuals who have contributed to the enhancement of the malt beverage industry.
"Bob has always served as a great advocate for beer," said Craig Purser, association president. "We feel it's a fitting tribute to someone who has worked so hard to remind Americans the role the beverage, (which) serves as our livelihood, plays in our culture."
"It has been a privilege to work with NBWA and its members and I am thrilled to accept this award on behalf of Here's To Beer and Anheuser-Busch," Lachky said. "Seeing the signs of beer industry improvement this year, we think we are making progress."
Lachky also provided resources to distributors that helped them explain their role in the marketplace. Through A-B, a Web site called www.htbmarketing.com provides distributors those tools to promote beer in its communities.
The National Beer Wholesalers Association serves as an advocate for 1,900 independent beer distributors across the country. Founded in 1938, the association's members ensure that the products they provide are consumed legally, moderately and responsibly.
