The Pantry, Cardtronics Renew ATM Agreement
CARY, N.C. — Cardtronics Inc., the world’s largest retail ATM owner/operator, renewed its ATM services agreement with The Pantry Inc., parent to more than 1,500 Kangaroo Express locations.
The latest agreement extends a relationship between the two companies that began in 2011. Cardtronics currently manages and operates more than 1,400 ATMs for Cary-based The Pantry, which has stores in 13 states.
As part of the renewed agreement, Cardtronics has expansion rights to operate ATMs for The Pantry in its future store locations. The retailer also participates in the Allpoint Network, Cardtronics’ surcharge-free ATM network.
“Renewing our agreement with Cardtronics enables us to continue providing a valuable service — convenient cash access — to our customers,” said Robin Vaughn, category manager for The Pantry. “Beyond that, we can enable our guests to obtain cash surcharge-free through our participation in Allpoint and the relationships with ATM branding partner financial institutions that Cardtronics has brought to the table. No matter who our customers bank with, we’re working with Cardtronics to help make their lives easier.”
David Dove, president, North American Business Group, at Cardtronics, added that The Pantry’s early renewal is a “testament” to the “continued positive relationship" the two organizations share.
"The Pantry has chosen to continue working with us to meet their customers’ needs and, in turn, drive traffic to their stores,” he said.
Houston-based Cardtronics owns and operates more than 111,150 retail ATMs in the United States.
