The Pantry, Circle K Join International Car Wash Association's Watersavers Program

CHICAGO -- The International Car wash Association, the world's largest association for car wash professionals, announces The Pantry in Cary, N.C., and Circle K are the newest members of its environmental recognition program, WaterSavers -- a new marketing program designed to help professional car washes promote their environmentally friendly business practices.

The Pantry, with 50-plus locations in the program, and Circle K, join the ranks of several top-chain car washes in the WaterSavers program, including Autobell, Brown Bear Car Wash, Giant Eagle, Mister Car Wash, Mr. Clean Car Wash and Splash.

"WaterSavers is a great program that recognizes those that put in a great effort to save and conserve water. By joining this program, we've demonstrated we're a good steward of the land," said John Crowe, car wash category at The Pantry. "The Pantry falls in line with some of the biggest car wash organizations around. It's a competitive disadvantage not to be involved in this program."

WaterSavers was developed to help professional car washes educate consumers on the environmental benefits of professional car washing, and promote their location as an environmentally friendly business, the association reported. In order to become a participant, car wash locations must prove that they reclaim or recycle treated water for future wash cycles and discharge effluent to a sanitary sewer or leech field. Each car wash location must be able to verify that they meet these requirements and maintain verification records on each car wash site, according to the association.

The program is open to all members of the International Car wash Association at a low annual cost of $49 per location or a $250 flat fee for six or more locations. To learn more, visit www.icawatersavers.org.
