With nearly 40 years of executive and managerial experience in the foodservice industry, Peter Barnecut joined Broaster Co., based in Beloit, Wis., as vice president of sales and marketing. In this role, he will facilitate domestic and international sales teams, marketing, customer service and technical support at the foodservice equipment and food provider.
Barnecut comes to Broaster from BKI-Worldwide where he was director of sales, North America, facilitating retail and foodservice equipment sales and marketing teams in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Prior to that, he served in a variety of sales and marketing roles at foodservice companies, including Scotsman Ice Systems, Ice-O-Matic and Carlisle Foodservice.
CBX appointed Anthony Simon as group director of its branded environments team. The retail and restaurant design industry veteran brings more than 20 years of experience to CBX, where he will provide creative leadership, oversee process and operations, as well as drive business development efforts. He will report to Joseph Bona, president of CBX Branded Environments.
Simon joins CBX from TPG Architecture, an architecture and design firm in New York City, where he served as design director and was responsible for business development, direction and management of design concepts and staff, and account relationships.
Linq3, a New York-based technology solution provider, has created a new team for the sales expansion and evangelization of its Play at the Pump program. Industry veteran Cassie Stewart Mullen, formerly of PSI and Neumayer, and Bryan Crossan, formerly of Gilbarco and Dresser Wayne, joined Linq3 to form the core of its petroleum retail sales organization.
The group will work with existing and new retail customers to implement and enable lottery transactions via Play at the Pump, currently on Gilbarco’s Passport Version 10. The move coincides with the piloting of the program in Minnesota and Missouri; it will soon be launched in North Carolina and California as well.
Mullen joins Linq3 with 20 years of experience in the convenience store and petroleum equipment and service business. In her most recent capacity, she oversaw a 19-person service and equipment sales team at one of the largest petroleum servicers in North America.
Crossan most recently served as director of marketing at Gilbarco Veeder-Root and previously worked in marketing and product management roles for both Gilbarco and Dresser Wayne. In these roles, he oversaw new ROI-driven initiatives, including Play at the Pump.
Frank P. Greinke's appointment to the position of Honorary Consul of the Republic of Georgia has been renewed for an additional three years. Greinke is immediate past president of SIGMA: America’s Leading Fuel Marketers and CEO of SC Fuels.
The position of Honorary Consul is the highest diplomatic honor/appointment that a foreign government can bestow on a U.S. citizen and it is only awarded to those believed to be an ideal candidate to represent the interests of that country. Consuls enjoy diplomatic benefits and privileges governed by the 1963 Vienna Convention.
Greinke and SIGMA this year developed and hosted the SIGMA International Study Tour of Istanbul, Turkey and the Republic of Georgia. On May 13-21, more than 30 fuel marketing leaders and their guests participated in the tour, where they had the opportunity to learn firsthand about Turkey's and Georgia’s successful economies and energy markets.
VMR Products, maker of the V2 brand of electronic cigarettes, appointed Guru Mallur to the position of chief technology officer. In this new role, Mallur will drive VMR’s technology strategy as the company expands into new global markets and readies new product lines.
Mallur will manage all aspects of VMR’s software and hardware systems, which power the company’s capabilities in e-commerce; back-office infrastructure; point-of-sale systems for retail initiatives; and the globalization of all VMR web properties.
Mallur brings more than 18 years of experience in software product development. He joins VMR from Travelocity, where he led various global technology teams for more than 15 years, and was most recently the company’s director of technology, a position he held since 2005.
