ATLANTA -- Committed to providing guidance and strategic direction for companies assessing the impact of emerging radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, NCR Corp. appointed John Greaves vice president, RFID Solutions.

As head of NCR's global RFID consulting practice, Greaves will be responsible for helping retailers and manufacturers define and navigate the RFID course that best meets their individual goals. He will also provide strategic leadership to NCR's RFID initiatives across all company divisions, bringing to bear a full range of products and services designed to maximize the company's RFID investment.

Greaves will report to Lee Schram, senior vice president of NCR's Retail Solutions Division and NCR's executive sponsor for RFID.

In other people news, KSS named Bob Johnson executive advisor. Johnson’s appointment brings in-depth knowledge of the North American markets and understanding of gasoline pricing operations, strategies and tactics to KSS, the company reported.

Bob was previously general manager, gasoline and environmental services at 7-Eleven, where he spent 32 years overseeing the growth of the company’s gasoline business and, more recently, steering the company to record gasoline performance gains.

As an executive advisor, Johnson will provide input into company strategy, product direction and sales and marketing activities.
