Rutter's Farm Stores in York, Pa., has added convenience store veteran Bob Sleeper to its information technology staff. Sleeper, a native of Buffalo, joined Rutter's as software application support manager.
He is a 1988 graduate of Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, N.Y., and was director of information technology for Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes Inc., a convenience-store chain in Canastota, N.Y., from 1989 to 1999.
Most recently he was senior systems analyst for NOCO Energy in Tonowanda, N.Y., an operator of convenience stores and a wholesale petroleum distributor.
Sleeper is active in the National Association of Convenience Stores, and formerly served on the board of directors of the Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards.
Enodis
Enodis plc, a worldwide company focused on the design, manufacture and supply of food equipment, announced the appointment of Jim Weaks as president of Enodis USA effective July 1st.
In his new role, Weaks will have responsibility for marketing, sales and service support for all Enodis brands in the United States. Weaks will report directly to David McCulloch, CEO of Enodis plc.
Convenience Valet
Convenience Valet, a packaging company that specializes in blister packaging small and trial-size consumer items, announced the addition of two new key account managers to coordinate sales activities for company’s convenience/grocery/drug/mass market store division.
Jeff Richman will have responsibility for overseeing accounts throughout the Midwest. Richman was an account executive for TNT in the convenience store channel. Additionally, Brian Borgmann will be key contact for accounts in the eastern portion of the country. Borgmann began his career at Cory Coffee Co. and comes from Howard J. Eddy & Associates, where he was a co-owner of the business.
ADVO
ADVO, a home-delivered print advertising company based in Windsor, Conn., named Therese Mulvey to the position of vice president, market intelligence. ADVO provides targeted home-delivered print advertising services to a variety of convenience stores, including select Circle K and 7 Eleven franchisees.
In this newly created position, which reports to chief marketing officer Matthew Spahn, Mulvey will strengthen ADVO’s market and consumer research, leading its development and deployment to assist clients in the formulation of advertising strategies and further position ADVO as a leader in targeted direct mail advertising.
Mulvey joins ADVO from Vertis, where she was vice president of marketing research, managing the company’s proprietary Customer Focus research program. She joined Vertis at its inception in 1996 as vice president, strategic marketing, overseeing all marketing functions as the organization formed from several smaller companies.

Spitz Sunflower Seeds named Ray Lindstrom Western regional sales manager for the U.S. market. Lindstrom will be responsible for sales and brand development in all classes of trade within his region and report directly to Chris Tamillo, national sales manager. He comes from King B Beef Jerky and most recently Jack Links, where he was named national brand manager.
