Walter Brickowski, with more than 20 years of wholesale petroleum marketing experience, has joined Gulf Oil LLP as the director of unbranded marketing. Brickowski has also spent time honing his skills in other commodity risk management marketing and trading positions.

Brickowski comes to the position at Gulf from a number of other energy companies, including Louis Dreyfus Energy, Transmontaigne, Premcor and Valero.

"Walter's market and customer knowledge combined with his strong interpersonal skills and strong business and work ethic will add a tremendous amount of value to our organization," said Gulf president and CEO Joe Petrowski.

In association news, the National Association of Convenience Stores has enlisted Rebecca Greenway as the manager of accounting operations.

She has more than 13 years of accounting experience and most recently held senior associate positions for McGladrey & Pullen, LLP and The Reznick Group. Greenway is a certified CPA and has spent time working for the Christian Relief Services Charities, Inc.

Greenway will oversee day-to-day financial operations of the association's $26 million budget, focusing on accounts receivable and general ledger transactions, account reconciliation and analysis, financial reporting and preparations for the annual audit.

In other people news, Kroger has expanded its board of directors to 14 with the addition of James A. Runde.

Runde is a special advisor and former vice chairman of Morgan Stanley, where he has spent 32 years. He has also served on a number of other boards in other industries including Burlington Resources Inc., an oil and gas company, prior to its acquisition by ConocoPhillips early in 2006.

Runde also serves as a trustee for Marquette University and the Pierpont Morgan Library.

In supplier news, Diageo has appointed Jim Young to the role of president of Diageo-Guinness USA. Young succeeds Dave Eickholt, who will retire in December after a 28-year career with the company.

Young comes to the position from his role as joint managing director for Diageo Great Britain. He will report directly to Ivan Menezes, president and CEO of Diageo North America. In the position, Young will grow and develop Diageo's beer and flavored malt beverage offerings in the U.S. and service on the company's North America Executive Team.

"With more than twenty years experience in the beer, wine and spirits industry, Jim will further advance Diageo's business within the beer category," said Menezes.

Young joined Diageo with the acquisition of Seagram in 2002 and has held senior commercial, finance and general management positions within the company, Venture Markets and Nordics.
