Dallas-based 7-Eleven, Inc.'s president and CEO, Joseph M. DePinto, joined the board of directors for Geniant, an IT strategy and services consulting firm.

DePinto has served many companies in the retail segment, including GameStop Corp., where he was the president, in addition to PepsiCo., Inc. and Thornton's Quick Café and Market where he held executive positions.

In other retailer news, Canastota, N.Y.-based Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes promoted two senior foodservice members. Jack Cushman was appointed to the position of executive vice president of foodservice. He has spent seven years with Nice N Easy, overseeing the development of the company's line of proprietary foodservice -- Easy Street Eatery.

Prior to joining Nice N Easy, Cushman was the senior area manager and franchise area consultant for Domino's Pizza.

"Jack has taken our foodservice program to a whole new level," said John MacDougall, president of Nice N Easy. "We believe we not only operate one of the best food programs in the c-store industry, but also that we can take on most fast feeders of any type that exist in our markets."

Glenn White was also promoted to the position of senior director of foodservice. White has spent 12 years with Nice N Easy and is credited for the creation of the company's foodservice program.

"Nice N Easy would not be where it is today as a foodservice company if Glenn White did not lay the groundwork in terms of menu, equipment, training, attracting good people and, most importantly, establishing food safety as a prime concern for all of us," said MacDougall.

In other retailer news, BP Group appointed Andy Inglis to the board of directors and promoted him to the position of managing director. Inglis succeeds Tony Hayward as the chief executive of the company's exploration and production business, effective immediately.

Inglis joined BP in 1980 and has served a variety of roles within the company's exploration and production segment. Prior to the appointment, he was the deputy chief executive of exploration and production and a member of BP Group's Executive Team.

"Aside from his great strategic sense and business track record, Andy brings deep technical strengths to the board," said BP chief John Browne. "He is joining a refreshed executive team which I expect to bring renewed momentum to BP's future performance."

In other people news, QuikTrip Corp.'s chairman, chief executive and president, Chet Cadieux, was named the 2007 chairman of the board of directors for the Tulsa Metro Chamber, at the group's annual meeting last month.

Cadieux also serves as a director on the boards of other companies such as: Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz, Inc.; the Bank of Oklahoma; the Tulsa Community Foundation and the Executive Advisory Board of the College of Business Administration at the University of Tulsa. He is also a past board member of NACS.

Cadieux succeeds Steve Turnbo, chairman of Schnake Turnbo Frank, Inc.

In supplier news, PepsiCo Inc.'s CEO, Indra Nooyi will also become the chairman, effective May 2, when the company's executive chairman, Steven Reinemund retires as previously announced. Nooyi became the CEO in October when Reinemund announced his retirement in August, a Reuters report stated.

Nooyi also held the roles of president and chief financial officer prior to becoming CEO. Nooyi joined the company in 1994 and was elected to the board in 2001.

In other supplier news, The Boston Beer Company, Inc., brewer of the Samuel Adams' line of beers, chose Thomas W. Lance as the company's vice president of operations. Lance comes to the position from Marlborough, Mass.-based Ken's Foods, where he served as the executive vice president of operations. Lance has also spent time at Bausch & Lomb, Welch's, General Mills and Quaker Oats.

"Tom's experience in managing and expanding complex food and beverage operations will be a great addition to the Company's management team," said Martin Roper, president and CEO of the company. "“This is particularly important as we consider the prospect of expanding the Company's brewery ownership."

In other supplier news, Seattle-based Imperium Renewables, a national provider of biodiesel, appointed Graham Noyes to the position of vice president of sales and business development.

Noyes comes to the position from seven years of developing domestic and international sales and distribution channels for biodiesel. Prior to this appointment, Noyes worked as the vice president of sales at World Energy Alternatives. Noyes also operated his own legal practice focusing on civil rights litigation, criminal defense and regulatory law. He remains an active member of the California Bar.

"Graham has an exceptional track record of increasing sales of biodiesel across the country and throughout the world," said Martin Tobias, Imperium's CEO and chairman. "We have extremely aggressive growth goals for 2007, and I am confident that Graham, with his experience and network, will be able to help us exceed them."

In other people news, DemandTec, Inc., provider of consumer-based sales, marketing and merchandising software for the retail industry, elected Victor L. Lund to the role of non-executive chairman DemandTec's of the board of directors. Lund has been on the board since April 2005.

"In the 20 months I've served on the DemandTec board, I've seen the company make excellent progress in the development and marketing of powerful new solutions for retail and consumer products companies. DemandTec provides a way for its clients to improve the way they understand and engage their consumers, thereby helping them to develop a competitive advantage," said Lund.

Lund comes to DemandTec from Albertson's Inc., where he was the vice chairman from 1999 to 2002. He has also spent time as chairman of the board and CEO for American Stores Co., which was acquired by Albertson's. Lund also sits on the board for Border's Group, Inc., Del Monte Foods Co., NCR Corp., Service Corporation International and I4 Commerce.
