Petro Stopping Centers Support USO

EL PASO, Texas -- Petro Stopping Centers presented a check for $48,842 to the USO (United Services Organization) following a fund-raising drive involving the chain's Chicken Fried Steak dinner, TruckingInfo.com reported.

Petro pledged one dollar to the organization that supports troops around the world for each time a Chicken Fried Steak dinner was ordered in May. The chain also sold "I Support Our Troops" window clings, with proceeds benefiting the USO.

"Our customers and employees demonstrated their deep support and appreciation for our military forces with the money that was raised in the effort," said David McClure, marketing director for Petro Stopping Centers, TruckingInfo.com reported.

Kathy Mejasich, vice president of corporate alliances for the USO, said that working with Petro was an encouraging experience. "All those USO decals will be out there for a long time as friendly reminders of what the USO is all about," she added.
