Pilot Flying J to Renovate 4,000 Showers Throughout the U.S.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- April showers bring May… renovated showers. Pilot Flying J announced it will renovate and update the 4,000 showers at its locations with new tiles, fixtures, lighting and hotel-quality shower heads. The changes come as a result of exhaustive research undertaken by the company that included members of the Pilot Flying J program actually visiting and showering at many of the locations.
"Showers are one of the most important things to professional drivers," said Mark Hazelwood, executive vice president of sales and development for Pilot Flying J. "…We found that cleanliness is absolutely the No. 1 thing that makes or breaks a good shower."
Pilot Flying J is taking its efforts one step further by running the "Best Shower on the Interstate Contest." From now until Labor Day, professional drivers stopping at Pilot Flying J locations are encouraged to vote as often as every three days on which shower is the best throughout the country. A five-star rating system is being used to calculate cleanliness, temperature, water pressure and other shower amenities.
The incentive for drivers to participate in the contest? Every time they cast a vote at an on-site kiosk, they will be automatically entered into a contest to win free Pilot Flying J coffee for a year.
