Pilot Flying J, TA Celebrate Truck Driver Appreciation Week

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. and WESTLAKE, Ohio — Pilot Flying J and TravelCenters of America LLC are honoring professional drivers all this week to celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Sept. 14-20.

TravelCenters, operator of the TA and Petro Stopping Centers travel center brands, is hosting multiple health fairs, while Pilot Flying J is extending its recognition throughout the whole month.

"As part of what we do every day, we strive to thank the 'Road Warriors' who serve as professional drivers," stated Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam. "But we're especially honored to recognize these outstanding men and women during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and throughout the month of September. We are grateful to these men and women for spending long hours on the road, away from family and friends, to keep our country running smoothly. That's why it's always been our top priority to help make their life and job run smoothly while on the road."

Pilot Flying J is offering additional MyRewards points and giveaways for professional drivers throughout September. Additionally, every weekday from Sept. 15-19, Pilot Flying J is offering:

• Coupons for one 20-ounce Nestlé Pure Life water or any size coffee, fountain drink or refill.
• The chance to buy a single Cinnabon item and receive a free item of equal or lesser value.
• Individual local celebrations at each store.
• A variety of other in-store giveaways.

Pilot Flying J has more than 650 locations across North America.

"While we are designating September to extend our appreciation to professional drivers, it is our ultimate goal to provide them with the best products and services all year round," Haslam said. "It's part of our commitment to making life better for America's drivers."

Meanwhile, TravelCenters partnered with the Truckload Carriers Association for the fourth consecutive year to host health fairs at 15 TA and Petro locations. The events took place Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Each health fair included health care professionals conducting blood-pressure screenings and glucose testing. Sleep apnea specialists and fitness coaches were at select locations. Other activities varied by site but included cornhole, basketball, dog washing, pet adoption, live bands, and truck windshield washing, the company said. Wellness walks took place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at some of the fairs.

TravelCenters has focused on driver health in recent years through its StayFit program, which assists professional drivers in improving their health and fitness by offering healthier meal options at TA and Petro full-service restaurants and better-for-you snacks in travel stores. Free fitness rooms, walking trails and basketball courts are also offered at a variety of TA and Petro locations nationwide.

TravelCenters operates 250 full-service locations in 43 states and Canada.
