Pilot Opens New Travel Center in Iowa

ATALISSA, Iowa -- Pilot Travel Centers opened a new travel center here, off Interstate 80 at exit 265 Sunday.

The new, 4,500-square-foot facility features 11 diesel islands as well as restaurants and other convenience items. Professional drivers will have access to such services as Trip Pak, a CAT scale and four showers.

"We hope that fleet customers will enjoy the convenient location of our new travel center in Atalissa," said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Travel Centers. "We expect that this brand new food and fuel stop will meet the travel and business needs of our customers."

The travel center includes Chester’s Chicken and Austin BBQ restaurants; Western Union; ATM; fax services; lottery and lotto games; news publications; bakery; grill; and deli.

"Our drink bar features 32 varieties of fountain drinks and a selection of Pilot’s hot coffees and cappuccinos, including Pilot’s house coffee, which was recently named the ‘Best Coffee on the Interstate’ by the readers of Truckers News," said Vincent Barrett, general manager for the Atalissa location.
