Pilot Travel Centers Selects Prepaid Card Program
KNOXVILLE -- Pilot Travel Centers reached an exclusive, multiyear agreement with PaySpot Inc. to provide prepaid card services to 304 locations.
"Pilot has been committed to the prepaid category for many years, and we have built a successful program," Ed Leddy, Pilot Travel Centers LLC marketing director, said in a statement. "Looking forward, there are exciting prepaid services, such as bill payment, yet to be unleashed. We’re ready to take prepaid to the next level, and we believe PaySpot’s innovation and TSC’s retail expertise will help us to do just that."
A subsidiary of Leawood-based Euronet Worldwide Inc., PaySpot began offering prepaid wireless, long-distance, stored-value products and mall gift cards to Pilot in mid-July.
PaySpot President Eric Mettemeyer said in a statement the merchandising techniques and added products have "already delivered a significant increase in prepaid sales volume for Pilot."
Mettemeyer added PaySpot plans to introduce its bill-payment service and international prepaid wireless products in Pilot stores in the fall. The bill-payment program, he noted, allows Pilot to accept cash payment for hundreds of utility, telecom, cable and other service providers.
