Planet Smoothie Launches Low-Calorie Line

ATLANTA -- Planet Smoothie has launched Planet Light, a new line of about 20 smoothies with less than 300 calories in three new flavors, the company announced. Additionally, many of the new smoothies will be more suitable for gluten-intolerant consumers.

"Most of the 20 smoothies are gluten free, which enable us to appeal to an even broader audience, including those afflicted with celiac disease affecting one in every 133 people," said Planet Smoothie president Bonnie Rhinehardt.

The three new flavors are Lunar Lemonade with Strawberries, a blend of lemonade, strawberries and bananas with a Fat Burner Blast; Grape Ape, a blend of strawberries and grape juice with an Energy Blast; and Mediterranean Monster, a blend of strawberries, bananas and a splash of orange juice with a Fat Burner Blast.

According to the company, Planet Smoothie currently operates 110 locations in 18 states.
