Porter Promoted at Royal Buying Group

LISLE, Ill. -- Sharon Porter, director of business development for Royal Buying Group Inc. (RBG) has been promoted to the position of director of vendors and business development, the company stated. Porter joined RBG in 2003, and developed its Business Development department, including responsibility for all field merchandising activities.

Porter's previous employment includes more than 20 years of convenience store industry experience. She has managed multiple store locations for Southland Corp. and provided operations management for independent convenience store and retail locations under the Shell, Amoco, Dunkin' Donuts and CITGO brands, according to the company. She also maintains a Foodservice Sanitation Certification, RBG stated.

"We are excited to have Sharon lead this important department for Royal Buying Group," Michael Zielinski, RBG's president and CEO said in a statement. "Since her employment here, she has continued to grow relationships within the industry, and has provided increased value to both our members and the supplier community. Her attention to detail and great work ethic will be a great resource for suppliers that continue to participate in RBG programs and those new suppliers that wish to join Royal Buying Group."

Porter takes over for Christine Brown, RBG's previous director of vendors, who has chosen to take on a different position in another industry.

"We wish Christine the best of luck in her new endeavor," Zielinski said in a statement.
