Powerball Jackpot Hits $550 Million
NEW YORK -- Convenience store retailers may get even busier today as consumers buy last-minute tickets for tonight's Powerball drawing, which has risen to an estimated $550 million, according to CNNMoney.
On Saturday, Nov. 24, lottery players failed to match the winning numbers for a 15th consecutive drawing. The most recent numbers were 22, 32, 37, 44, 50 and Powerball 34.
The jackpot is the largest in the history of the Powerball lottery, which is held in 42 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
However, players will have to be extremely lucky to win, no matter how many tickets they buy: the odds of winning tonight's drawing are one in 175 million.
