Pride's Reduced Emissions Fuel Program Goes Live

CHICAGO — The Pride Stores Inc., along with GreenPrint LLC, The Arbor Day Foundation and other local partners, has officially launched the "Purpose" reduced emissions fuel program at all The Pride Stores across the Chicagoland area.

Starting June 1, drivers are able to lessen their impact on the environment simply by pumping the same gas they have always purchased at the convenience store chain. A turnkey sustainability program, Purpose reduces consumers' tailpipe emissions via GreenPrint's proprietary platform that invests in local, regional and global certified carbon reduction projects and plants trees with The Arbor Day Foundation to sequester carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

The Pride Stores is the first and exclusive Purpose partner in Chicago, as CSNews Online reported.

"We're proud to call Chicagoland home and are thrilled to make this unique program available to all of our customers," said Mario Spina, CEO of The Pride Stores. "We'll be planting 10,000 trees with The Arbor Day Foundation, along with other local green-scape events we'll be announcing as part of the Purpose program, to support our communities. We hope everyone will choose to drive with Purpose!"

Unlike alternative fuels, Purpose requires no new software, hardware, tanks, vehicles or equipment, and does not require any type of opt-in choice. Instead, customers can fill up their gas tanks while benefiting the environment, the company stated.

Based in Chicago, The Pride Stores are owned and operated by The Pride Stores Inc., the retail division of Parent Petroleum Co. Parent Petroleum specializes in service and sales of petroleum products to retail, commercial and industrial customers servicing more than 350 stations throughout Illinois and the Tri-State area."Purpos
