PumpTop TV Partners with ABC

IRVINE, Calif. -- Digital media company PumpTop TV partnered with ABC, to produce and deliver custom news content daily to U.S. consumers when they are pumping gas, PumpTop TV stated.

As part of the agreement, ABC will produce a daily lineup of news features through "ABC News NOW," a 24-hour digital cable network available to over 32 million users on cable, broadband, mobile and out-of-home digital media, the company stated.

"It's clear that alternative media like PumpTop TV have proven to be successful reaching and engaging consumers during the natural dwell times of their daily routines," Roy Reeves, vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement. "We are excited to deliver ABC's first-rate content to fuel customers and to be a complementary piece of ABC's alternative digital media strategy."

PumpTop TV’s network, which provides five-minute programs of news, sports, business, entertainment, weather and traffic, along with advertising, uses daylight-viewable LCD screens from its parent company, AdtekMedia's partner, Westinghouse Digital Electronics, the company stated.

PumpTop TV's network is made up of more than 2,500 screens found at most major gas station brands in the Los Angeles and San Diego markets, while installations are underway in the San Francisco and Sacramento markets, with Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Boston slated for 2008, according to the company.
