Quick Chek Pilots Self-Checkout

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J -- Dubbed as a first for the convenience stores industry, Quick Chek, a family-operated chain of convenience stores throughout New Jersey and southern New York, is testing self-checkout lanes equipped with note and coin recycling capabilities at its Phillipsburg, N.J., location at 600 New Brunswick Ave.

Partnering with global technology provider NCR Corp., Quick Chek Fast Lanes began operating in the store Aug. 26, and are designed to enhance the retailer's superior customer service abilities by offering customers a second purchasing option and the opportunity to speed up the checkout process during peak store periods.

"Along with being held in high regard for our wide array of fresh food products and famed fresh coffee program, Quick Chek customers also know us for the high level of personalized service we offer," Quick Chek Vice President of Technology Maria Fidelibus said in a statement. "Our new Quick Chek Fast Lane pilot program is intended as an extension of that solid customer service offering, and we are thrilled to partner with NCR in this industry-pioneering initiative."
