QuickChek Celebrates Innovators Award Win
WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. — The honors keep pouring in for QuickChek Corp. and its award-winning coffee. The convenience store chain recently accepted the award for Best Hot Beverages Innovator in the 2014 Convenience Store News Foodservice Innovators Awards program.
Presented in partnership with Tyson Foods, the annual awards program recognizes retail leaders who are raising the bar on quality, service and innovation in the critically important foodservice category. Winners were chosen by CSNews' 18-member How To Do World-Class Foodservice “How To Crew,” consisting of experts from the retail, supplier, research and consulting fields.
QuickChek, a market leader in foodservice, won the same award in 2012 and was the silver medal winner in the Foodservice Innovator of the Year category in 2013.
The judges praised QuickChek for:
- Its use of a timer program that ensures consistent fresh coffee with a dedicated team member in each store who provides excellent customer interaction and service;
- Its Q Cafés that provide handcrafted smoothies, lattes and espresso-based drinks that offer customers high product quality and value; and
- The layout of its hot beverage program, which enables optimal customer flow within each store.
“Foodservice is of critical importance to the convenience industry,” said CSNews Editorial Director Don Longo, who presented the award Friday to QuickChek’s team. “When we created this awards program, we wanted to recognize innovation as we believe this is what separates good companies from great companies. QuickChek continues to be one of the true innovators in our industry.”
QuickChek’s hot beverage program includes new fresh-brewed coffee flavors using its proprietary select blend that incorporates only the world’s finest beans, along with the widest variety of lighteners and sweeteners anywhere in the country, enabling customers to create their favorite brew exactly as they like it 24 hours a day. To further satisfy customer taste buds, QuickChek introduced its new Reserve Blend regular coffee in September to meet consumers’ trending interests in a richer, bolder taste.
“We are guided by the principles of Total Customer Dedication, committed to delivering what the customer wants,” noted QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. “We strive to continue to define the term ‘fresh convenience’, whether it’s in producing a richer, bolder tasting coffee, offering a wider variety of specialty drinks, to finding new ways to make a customer’s store experience easier and more enjoyable.”
Family owned and operated, QuickChek operates 139 retail locations throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and on Long Island, including 11 pharmacy stores and 47 locations with fuel.
