QuickChek Earns Third Consecutive Best Place to Work in NY Title
WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. — QuickChek Corp. has been named one of the Best Places to Work in New York State for the third consecutive year.
The statewide Best Places to Work survey and awards programs are designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New York, whose practices benefit the state’s businesses, economy and workforce. Rankings are not derived from an outside judge, but instead by each company’s employee base.
The New Jersey-based convenience store chain, which has 14 locations in Long Island and the Hudson Valley, is ranked seventh this year, moving up after previously being ranked 13th in 2013 and 16th in 2014.
The privately held, family-owned and -operated company has a total of 140 retail locations throughout New Jersey and New York. QuickChek has also been named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey for five consecutive years by NJBIZ magazine.
“We firmly believe in being a great place to work, a great place to shop and a great place to invest,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. “With over 3,500 team members in 140 stores, we look to create a positive experience and fun environment where core values are nurtured, hard work is rewarded and leadership is cultivated.”
QuickChek's full-time employees are offered a wide variety of health and welfare benefits ranging from medical, dental and vision, to life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, fitness reimbursement and even pet insurance.
A typical QuickChek store creates 35 to 50 new local jobs and generates approximately $1 million in tax revenue. In its 47-year history, the company is said to have never laid off an employee due to economic reasons.
QuickChek was recognized at the Best Company awards ceremony held April 21 by the New York State Society of Human Resources Management.
In addition, Bob Graczyk, the retailer's vice president of human resources, has been selected as one of the speakers at the upcoming 24th annual Society of Human Resource Management Conference and Exhibitors’ Showcase, being held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, N.Y., on May 8.
