QuickChek Ranks No. 1 in New Jersey Coffee

WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. — QuickChek is the first choice for New Jersey residents in search of a cup of coffee, the Hunterdon County Democrat reported.

In a recent survey of retail foodservice companies, QuickChek ranked No. 1 in the categories of Overall Satisfaction, Recommendation and Price Value for coffee in the third quarter of 2014.

Global market research company StudyLogic asked 19,502 respondents in northern and southern New Jersey to rank vendors such as QuickChek, Wawa, Starbucks, Subway, McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts and 7-Eleven in multiple food and beverage categories.

QuickChek rated first in Overall Satisfaction for coffee with a 4.75 average rating on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 indicating "very satisfied." Dunkin' Donuts came in second at 4.50, while Starbucks and Wawa tied for third at 4.49 each, followed by McDonald's at 4.24 and 7-Eleven at 3.65.

In the Recommendation category, QuickChek scored 8.45 out of 10, followed by Starbucks (8.40), Dunkin' Donuts (8.22), Wawa (8.17), McDonald's (7.71) and 7-Eleven (6.76).

In Price Value, QuickChek scored 9.39 out of 10, followed by Starbucks (8.40), Dunkin' Donuts (8.22), Wawa (8.17), McDonald's (7.71) and 7-Eleven (6.76).

Whitehouse Station-based QuickChek was the only retailer in the survey that has fewer than 200 locations in the market, according to the report. QuickChek beat out Starbucks during the quarter, outselling it in hot brewed units despite having 40 percent fewer units, or 124 stores compared to 208.

"We are very pleased consumers continue to think so highly of our brand," stated QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. "We've built this company by being totally committed to what the customer wants and we will continue to provide an exceptional fresh food and beverage program that can be enjoyed any time day or night."

QuickChek also topped a recent Technomic survey of the 20 largest U.S. convenience stores that offer foodservice, as CSNews Online previously reported.

Family-owned and -operated QuickChek operates 138 stores in New Jersey and New York.
