QuickChek Tops C-store Chains for Beverage & Food Quality
WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. –- QuickChek Corp. ranked No. 1 in both the overall beverage quality and overall food quality categories of the 2014 Consumer Brand Metrics: Convenience Stores survey conducted by Technomic Inc. A total of 2,413 consumers across the United States took part.
The survey covered the 20 largest convenience store chains by number of units that offer foodservice operating in the U.S., plus QuickChek and Pilot Flying J, which were chosen for their distinctive offerings. Other participating chains included 7-Eleven Inc., Wawa Inc., Speedway LLC/Hess Express and Cumberland Farms Inc.
Consumers identified the chains they visit from these 22 brands, and then answered detailed questions about their most recent visit to that chain. Finally, they answered brand-specific questions related to reasons for visiting, occasion and ratings of the brand across 50 attributes.
The attributes fell under the headings of Service and Hospitality; Unit Appearance and Ambiance; Food and Beverage; Convenience and Takeout; Value; Brand Image and Brand Loyalty; and Fit.
QuickChek received a 96-percent rating in overall beverage quality (coffee) and a 94-percent rating in overall food quality.
"We are committed to delivering what the customer wants," stated QuickChek CEO Dean Durling. "We refer to this as Total Customer Dedication, and it's an honor to be recognized for the principles in which we have built this company. We are driven to define the term 'fresh convenience' — fresh food, fresh coffee, fast fuel and friendly people."
QuickChek was also the only chain to make the top five in every category, the company said. It was rated No. 2 in food taste and flavor (at 91 percent); No. 2 in convenient location (95 percent); and No. 4 in pleasant, friendly service (91 percent).
