QuikTrip Adds Another QT Kitchen
ELLENWOOD, Ga. -- Thousands of sandwiches, doughnuts and cookies will soon be baked here and delivered daily to QuikTrip convenience stores throughout the Atlanta metro area, as the c-store chain opens a QT Kitchen commissary in Clayton County, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, citing an announcement by county officials.
The facility’s grand opening was scheduled for earlier this week, but production will not start until next week, said Wanda Bender, a spokeswoman for the county commission. The goods baked here will be distributed to 115 QuikTrip stores starting May 1.
The 112,000-square-foot bakery is located on East Clayton Drive, off Interstate 675. The project already generated $16.2 million in real estate and construction costs for Clayton County and is bringing 227 jobs to the area, with the majority already filled, according to the report.
QuikTrip also spent $6.8 million on equipment for the facility, according to the report.
