QuikTrip Again Lands on Fortune's Best Employers List

NEW YORK -- From on-site saunas to "wardrobe assistance," the employee perks offered by companies on Fortune magazine's 2010 list of 100 Best Companies to Work For is enough to make anyone envious. One convenience store chain making the list again this year was Tulsa, Okla.-based QuikTrip, at No. 41.

While QuikTrip fell a few rungs on the list compared to its No. 27 spot in 2009, the retailer was lauded for its new employee mentoring. Fortune cited the two-week program that takes new employees under the wings of seasoned veterans as a reason why the company is such a good employer.

In addition, full-time turnover is 12 percent -- quite low for the c-store channel -- and two percentage points below the 2009 level reported by Fortune. The company also maintains an IT staff of 79 to keep things running smoothly, according to the report.
