QuikTrip Donates Truck Loads of Toys

TULSA, Okla. -- QuikTrip Corp. this week literally donated tons of toys collected through its 17th annual Toys for Tots drive, NewsOn6.com reported.

The U.S. Marines, who partnered with the convenience retailer for the toy drive, brought two 7-ton trucks to haul the toys away for sorting and distribution, but found so many toys that they had to make a second trip, according to the online report.

"When we get collections this big, it goes so far to help us reach our goals of helping out children in need," said Staff Sergeant Berger, Toys for Tots coordinator.

QuikTrip spokesman Mike Thornbrugh said not only do employees and division people donate money and go out and buy the toys, but customers also drop off toys at QuikTrip locations. "So, it's not just our employees, but our customers help as well," he said.
