RaceTrac Petroleum Slates New Florida Store
MINNEOLA, Fla. -- Convenience store operator RaceTrac Petroleum won the city commission's approval for a plan to build an 18-pump gas station and convenience store here, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
In addition, commissioners voted to allow a realignment of Causey Road, a clay road just east of the site. Commissioner Elaine Renick cast the lone vote against RaceTrac's plan, objecting to the size of the project, which will require the company to remove several trees, according to the report.
The company views the future store location as a valuable, high-traffic area, Consuella Ragin, project manager for RaceTrac, said in the report, adding RaceTrac is nearing completion on a similar station nearby. That 24-pump station and adjacent 5,000-square-foot convenience store are slated to open in June, the report stated.
