Registration Opens for 2014 Sweets & Snacks Expo
CHICAGO -- Registration is now open for the 2014 Sweets & Snacks Expo, set to take place May 20-22 at Chicago's McCormick Place. The 18th annual event already boasts a double-digit waiting list of companies ready to exhibit, according to the National Confectioners Association (NCA), organizer of the event.
New additions to this year's event will include the European Confectionery Pavilion, which will feature 100 companies from nearly 25 countries. In addition, the Expo's mobile app will be upgraded and a desktop planner will be launched that allows attendees to schedule their entire trip before arriving in Chicago.
The 2013 Expo broke previous records in volume of confectionery and snack products, with more than 600 companies and an 8-percent increase in exhibitor participation.
In 2014, the show floor square footage is being expanded to incorporate more space in the center of the exhibit hall.
"There are a number of reasons that our event continues to grow and break milestones," said NCA President Larry Graham. "We are committed to finding innovative ways to grow the Expo, including an emphasis on new confectionery and snack products; distinct exhibit space for organic, natural and gourmet products; highlighting international companies; and exploration of the latest trends in shopper marketing. We service all your confectionery and snack needs in one place."
The 2014 event will also feature speeches by several well-known guests, including Tony Hsieh, CEO and founder of Zappos.com, who will discuss successful customer service strategies; ESPN commentator Jeremy Schaap, who will discuss motivation and how strong leaders are a key to success in any setting; and Nancy Snyderman, NBC's chief medical editor, who will discuss how to balance healthy lifestyles and enjoyment.
