Rhodes Convenience Stores Joins U.S. Army Jobs Program

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — The U.S. Army gained a new partner in the form of Rhodes Convenience Stores. Rhodes became a partner of the Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) during a formal signing ceremony held on March 22 at the Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus.

Through the partnership, Rhodes guarantees honorably discharged soldiers and Army Reservists a job interview and possible employment after their service in the Army, Southeastern Missourian reported.

The convenience store chain is one of only 12 Missouri-based companies in the PaYS program.

Rhodes founder Gene Rhodes served in the military before establishing Rhodes Oil Co. in 1963 and acquired the first store in the Rhodes c-store chain in 1989. Today, the company continues to support military. Its most recent donations include to the USO in July 2016 for $10,000 and $5,000 made to four local veterans’ programs in November 2016.

Rhodes is excited to become a U.S. Army PaYS partner and looks forward to welcoming more soldiers and reservists to its organization, the company stated.

Cape Girardeau-based Rhodes operates 29 convenience stores throughout Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois.
